{"id":3448,"date":"2021-08-09T08:56:00","date_gmt":"2021-08-09T08:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mybuilding24.com\/fire-extinguisher-maintenance\/"},"modified":"2024-09-25T07:00:19","modified_gmt":"2024-09-25T07:00:19","slug":"fire-extinguisher-maintenance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybuilding24.com\/en\/fire-extinguisher-maintenance\/","title":{"rendered":"Fire extinguisher maintenance"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why fire extinguishers?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Fire extinguishers are an essential safety measure!\nNevertheless, according to a survey conducted for the Austrian Road Safety Board, almost a third of respondents did not have a fire extinguisher in their household.\nOnly half of those who had a fire extinguisher stated that they had the device checked regularly (every 2 years) for functionality.\nYes, fire extinguishers can prevent worse and even save lives in an emergency, but only if they are regularly checked and maintained professionally: whether at home or at work!   <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Are fire extinguishers compulsory in Austria?<\/h2>\n\n<p>There is currently no obligation to keep a fire extinguisher in stock in private areas (although we explicitly recommend this safety measure).\nIn the workplace, the regulations are much stricter: the defined extinguishers must be clearly marked in the designated place.\nIn addition, care must be taken to ensure that they are freely accessible at all times.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How must fire extinguishers be maintained in Austria?<\/h2>\n\n<p>In Austria, fire extinguishers must be inspected every two years by a certified expert in accordance with legal requirements.\nThe inspection must be documented with the inspection sticker on the device in accordance with \u00d6NORM-F1053. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What must be observed when maintaining a fire extinguisher?<\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>General condition and overall impression<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extraordinary rust spots, discoloration and cracks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completeness of the lettering and protective coating<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optics of fuses, release fittings and hoses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Condition of connections, seals, fittings and threads<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Volume and weight<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cleanliness of extinguishing hose and inlet nozzle<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Compliance with previous inspection deadlines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Movement of the fittings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Condition of the extinguishing agent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When should fire extinguishers be serviced?<\/h2>\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mybuilding24.com\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"www.mybuilding24.com\"><strong><u>MyBuilding24<\/u><\/strong> <\/a>helps you to be reminded regularly and in good time when maintenance is due and to keep the corresponding documentation.\nDocumentation k <\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Why fire extinguishers?
